In a start 1 goalie, I wouln’t make that trade as Vasi will likely stay on your bench most of the time.
Stone is alway injured and Kreider is getting older.
So keep Pettersson and your first round pick imo.
Have a GM that's ready to sell off most of his team and he just sent me a big offer but it affects a) my team this year as the offer is lopsided so I'd also have to drop bodies and b) it involves one of my keepers
Receive:
RNH, Kreider, Stone & Vasi
5th round pick
Give
Pettersson, Talbot
1st round pick
*have to drop two
It's only a 14 player team (12 team league), with 4 keepers, so only 10 rounds of picks in play.
He's open to counters, but he's sent over 3 offers all targeting Pettersson. I would counter to not lose arguably my 2nd best keeper AND my first rounder.
I'm ok to move on from Talbot if I get a superior goalie in return (I see Talbot regressing 2nd half from workload, it's alrady begun with LAs funk). He also has Markstrom.
But having Igor & Vasi, albeit they aren't top of their games at the moment, causes a problem of not keeping both (can deal in the off-season) but a bigger question of the gap I create by moving Pettersson (if I even consider it).
Current keepers are: Kuch, Igor, Pettersson & M Tkachuk
In a start 1 goalie league, I can't keep 2 goalies and not sure any of those other high-end talents justify a keeper spot (Stone, RNH, Reinhart, Svech, Kreider) but that's probably the potential personal trauma of losing Pettersson speaking ... as those guys aren't slouches. FWIW, I had Svech as a keeper for like 3-4 years until a couple back, we are likely up'ing the pts for hits/blocks in the offseason.

Personally I don’t see anyone coming to you in the trade or remaining on your roster that I would keep in place of Pettersson.
Unless I’m missing something I don’t see the benefit to you in making this trade.

I think the guys you'd receive are close equal value with the guys you'd have to drop. I don't think this deal is worth doing
Thanks all, appreciate that.
If I were to counter on Markstrom, and either RNH or Kreider, what do you think a package looks like … I’d include Talbot going back ++? This GM isn’t making the playoffs so he’ll want a high pick.
Another shot to take is at the Demko GM, he’s outside the playoffs and perhaps also packaging Talbot+ and a pick swap could get him interested

I’ve been suspect at D all year, and none of the players in this exchange are/were/will be keepers. Carlson wouldn’t hurt, especially if WSH gets some momentum.
Svech is the big loss, but I can counter, as the trader is looking at him as a keeper which means I have some leverage there.
Stone & Kreider have both been better than Fiala.
Markstrom right now might be a sell high … but is Talbot a sell low that will regain form? I’ve been watching him on my team for a while wondering how long a) LA will keep it up and b) how long can he endure this kind of a workload, and if they want to keep him fresh for playoffs they’re going to find someone else that can take some of his games away impacting his value for the fantasy season volume wise.
Kane, Ehlers, Patches (stashed on my IR) are bubble contributors for the rest of the season IMO … Kane TBD, Ehlers might regress when Conor’s come back or he gets injured again, and Max was just an IR stash to see what he does.

So you are considering moving Svech in hopes Carlson and WSH get things together. That right there is a mistake.
I don't think this trade offers enough increases to you winning. Maybe slight bump, but personally do not a big enough upgrade.
Dmen is your current weakness; then I would ensure that is the priority in any trade you may complete. Especially if you are moving Svech or Fiala.
If you like Carlson; what about Fiala and your 5th rd pick for his Carlson and his 8th or 9th rd pick. He gets youth, pt per game player and mid table pick. You get a good dman and extra pick in the back part of the draft.
