    Default Meier for Thomas

    Hey folks,

This is for the first league in my signature. I have let it be known in my league that Meier is pissing me off and was presented with an offer of Robert Thomas and a 7th round pick for my Timo Meier and a 6th round.

In a keep 3 league, 7 and 6 round picks are 10 and 9 in a one year so in my mind, negligible pick swap here. My team is currently pretty stacked but assists is an area I'm lacking in (slightly).

My hesitation is that because this is a multi-cat league having a player like Thomas, who is very one-dimensional, drives his value down.

I'm not sure if there is another thread that discusses this but if Meier can get back to what he was doing last season he would still be very valuable, but I'm not convinced that's happening this year.

Appreciate the thoughts and feedback, I'll hang up and listen.

It may be the easy way out, but I don't think you can expect the San Jose Meier to come back. Classic example of him being the only fish in the SJ forward, so everything not funneled to EK65 went to thim. Devils are more well rounded. That being said, being on a stacked team can still boost scoring. On the whole, I'd rather have Meier than Thomas. I expect them both to be around the same area in points, maybe slight edge to Thomas. But Thomas is a hole on the multicat side and that will never change. I'll make room for a no sandpaper guy like Jack or Quinn Hughes when they're an exceptional scorer, but that's not Thomas. Thus, you're in the position of needing to gather Tkachuks or JT Millers or Tom Wilsons to try to overcome that black hole. From a roster construction standpoint, I'd rather go with Meier.

I'm curious...so far this year what are each player's Points Per Man Game Played with the cats in your league. Thanks. I'm surprised, Thomas actually has 22% more blocks than Meier so far this year (based on man games played).
SOME POOL RULES. Points only (G-1, A-1). One year Hybrid Pool. 3 round draft with balance of roster selected from any undrafted NHLer.. 19F 4 D 2 Rooks SALARIES AND POSITIONS DO NOT MATTER (other than being a F or D). NO Inter-Team Trading, Bench or Minors. Our WAIVER WIRE is ANY player in the NHL who is not Drafted in our league's 3 round draft. Each manager gets 6 ADD/DROPS (TRADES) for the year...any player on roster can be TRADED for any unDrafted F/D/R from ANY NHL team. INJURY RULE "IR". A hurt player can be replaced by another F/D from HIS NHL team and this is NOT considered a trade.. Injured player can be put back on team any time.

Keep Meier, even with 40 points a year he should be quite a bit more valuable in your set up.

I’d flip Meier in a second for Thomas - he seems lost.
