In a keeper league would you prefer Makar or Quinn Hughes? My league stats for defensemen are mostly assists (1.5 point), goals (1.5 point) and +- (+1 or -1).

If I were drafting for a new league today, I would have Makar ahead of Hughes.

Yah as much as it pains me to say. I would have to go Makar as well. Hughes needs at least this season and next of outperforming Makar before he takes the mantle. The only caveat I will say is Makar seems to be injury prone throughout his career, so its something to consider.

Q Hughes would need to complete this season how he has thus far, repeat it again next year, and also need Makar to lag behind before he jumps ahead of Makar.
