Drop one: Varlamov or Ersson
In league below I have 5 goalies and need to drop one. Volume cats are a big part of the goalie cats so I’m wondering which of Varlamov or Ersson will get more starts this season.
Varly is safer to go every 2/3 games but Ersson has more potential to get a timeshare with Hart.
Thoughts?

I thought that as well, but Gibson is supposedly a starter. He’d get picked up for sure. So would any of the other two most likely.
wondering whether to try and send Varly and Ersson for a Skinner instead. He’d pretty much get all starts, though his stats are another matter.

Starter or not, the other two have better numbers. Gibson may get volume but he's not someone you can expect much from or depend on. If you think he has value in your league, try trading him. If anything, he may be hurting your team when you start him.

I like the idea of exploring a Gibson trade, but Christmas is rough time to try and get a deal done quickly.
You do have 2 pure volume stats in GS & SA, so Gibson will have value.
Trying to decide who will start more of Varlamov/Ersson is tough. Will either starter get hurt? Will Hart get dealt? Will Varlamov get dealt?

So I traded Gibson for Ekholm as I wanted an even stronger D than I have in terms of banger cats with some offensive potential. I couldn’t get the other GM to agree to the trade straight up so I had to send a 10th pick for a 12th pick to get the deal done.
I had sent offers to a few other teams that could use another goalie but no takers.

That's porbably the best result, as you keep two guys who will be pretty useful, and get a good D upgrade.
