There are a lot of unknowns about both, but I lean Markstrom here right now. I have Merz in a league and would swap him for Markstrom in an instant.
A lot could change: do either get traded (unlikely), could one of their competitors in the crease get traded, do their teams tank hard at the deadline and how does the team play after that? Neither look to be solid options come March and April in fantasy, but for now I see a little bit more upside in Markstrom. Again with goalie advice the ground could shift in two weeks. So you gotta go with your gut to some extent.

I feel like this is close. I might want neither rest of season, honestly, but we don't know what coming for the teams.
Wolf is the best guy on either team not named, and he's behind Markstrom.
I feel like Calgary is better than Columbus right now, but that's very subject to change, since they may be having a fire sale; which could include Markstrom, and that should improve his situation.
Both seem to get dinged up.
I'd probably pick whichever one fit with the schedules of your other goalies.

Thanks all for your thoughts. Turns out my choice was forced on me as someone higher in the waiver priority picked up Markstrom and I am now left with Elvis.
