Looking at the make up of your Centers, I feel you can lose Matthews who is the top player of that bunch to acquire a player that is quickly closing in on Makar as being the top Defenseman in Quinn Hughes and a future star defenseman in Luke Hughes. Hell Lughes is very good now. I like the Hughes brothers side.

Side A by a lot. Doesn’t matter that your C are good. Matthews is a generational talent and no one else here is with the possible exception of Askarov. Who you’d also be trading. And on top of it you get zero periphs from the Hughes brothers. This is an easy no for me.

Side A for me. Matthews is the best player in the deal. Your goalies as a whole seem middling for a 12 team; I wouldn't be dealing Askarov in that situation unless it resulted in getting a solid NHL goalie. Don't make a trade of this magnitude that creates another problem in your roster that will need fixing.

Side B for me, QH on pace for a 100 points, and LH will be a stud
Plus you land the Hughes trio which is awesome.

i think its much harder for elite D to be consistent point producer year after year vs a F...while i would love idea to own all 3 brothers, i think Matthews is just too valuable....maybe if you add some D coming back and get a decent F going your way it would be closer...but Matthews is still by far best player in the deal...

Side A. With hits & Blocks, you probably don't want too many offense only D. And you already are skewing that way.
