Assess trade idea
My Fiala/Demko for McAvoy/Gustavsson. I feel like there's a wall that Vancouver is hitting and the opposite for Minnesota is happening. Also, Fiala sits on my bench nearly 90% of the time. I just can't get him into games, having said that, if McAvoy's injury is nothing serious, he could be a huge add to my back end. I also don't see Fleury grabbing that starting gig or splitting for that matter. Too risky a move or great upside?

McAvoy is listed day-to-day right now. So decent chance he is back for Wednesday game.
Personally I would rather have Demko; don't think Van is hitting a wall and that we see then crumble rest of season.
Also Gus is still in a time share of sorts with Fleury.
What about trying just Fiala for McAvoy?

Thanks for the input. I guess I am trying to get ahead of the goalie trends, real or imagined, before they happen.

teams are not hitting a wall 2 months into the ceiling...every team has ups and downs but they dont last that long....i dont see scenario where Mini is much better team than Vancouver rest of the year....Damko is a stud and you should not move on from him...
im with others that Fiala for Mcavoy makes more sense but in the banger league ill be surprised if other GM goes for it.

You're definitely justified in thinking that Demko will probably negatively regress and Gustavsson will probably positively regress. At the same time, based on stats to date, the Demko side is so far ahead so as to potentially raise suspicion. I think you should get some mileage out of what has happened so as to get a better return.Originally Posted by islefan31
