Kaprisov deal!! please help

Hi all! Some context first; 8 gm’s and each gm has one main team and one minor team. Each team has 26 roster spots. 2f, 6D, 1 utility, 2 goalies can start per day w/ 5 bench. You can trade with your minor team to bring up/send down for scheduling purposes. I am currently first but neck and neck with 2 other gm’s, one who has won the most in the league

trade:

rebulding team wants my caufield and Carlsson, while I’m only comfortable doing one. Gm is also interested in Hamilton but this is the deal I’m pushing for

I give caufield or Carlsson, 1st (7th or 8th overall) + kuznetsov + Coronato or lysell

I get kaprisov + Malkin + kane + 2nd (15th or 16th overall)

Sorry, kuznetsov. The trade is primarily for kaprisov and I would like a Detroit fwd. i thought getting Malkin and even .5ppg from kane isn’t bad depth for me as I’m in win now mode

Why do you need a Det F? If the other GM would do this for Caufield I think I’d do it. But I don’t want Kane and I would not do it with Carlsson.

Thanks! Kane is essentially a throw in with this deal, not a main component of it. Guess I can subtract coronato/lysell and take kane out as well.

I still think kane can be productive tbh. As a throw in on a deal, why not haha

i dont mind this deal for you at all, but you are sacrificing future for now big time.

i would not get hanged up on Kane, he is a throw in as you said and he may be useful, looked pretty good so far. 10 shots in 2 games means that at very least he is still able to play after the injury, will this stay consistent , who knows.

Ya my thought process is that kaprisov is still only 26 and will help me more these next few years of my window. Malkin still puts up points, kane adds whatever he adds. Plus, my pick in the first round is on the low end + I get a pick back. Carlsson looks great but kaprisov is a stud now. I can always get prospects via drsft or fa as well. Would you do Carlsson or caufield?

I would try to do the deal with Caufield. I also would rather move Coronato over Lysell.

However I think you are light on offer. I don't think you get Kaprizov, Malkin, Kane and a 2nd for what you offered.
That offer may have to be without Kane. I think Kane alone may get that GM a top/good prospect and 2nd or 3rd rd pick. Especially if Kane plays well over next week or 2.

I think the deal is fine considering that you are contending. Dropping oenb round in a 8 teamer should work out okay. How many do you keep - if full dynasty, and you keep all, that should be fine.

Without FOW and no forward positions, i think it's unclear which forward of Carlsson & Caulfield to give up longer term.

I do think that you might try to move a farm goalie like Schmid out. There should be useful goalies out there, I'd expect.
