I'd drop for Eklund. I think he has the highest upside and path the consistent 1st line minutes
But the team around him is shit, so it might take him a while to get there. I see him following a similar path to Larkin
I've currently got Benson but while he's shown some flashes, he's mostly been underwhelming this season. I've primarily been holding him as a potential trade chip, but the best concrete offer I've gotten was Benson straight up for Boone Jenner and even with banger stats boosting Jenner's value, I don't think that's a good trade.
Lately, I've been toying with the idea of dropping Benson for either Marco Rossi or William Eklund. Benson seems to have a slightly higher ceiling than either Rossi or Eklund, but they are also much more productive than him at present. Should I hold on to Benson? Should I have taken that Jenner trade? If I do drop Benson, who is the better add?

That's my big concern about Eklund, especially since he isn't even playing on the first line (though Eklund/Hertl/Barbanov is arguably better than Zetterlund/Granlund/Duclair). I do also like that he has an above average number of blocks for a forward and he isn't quite as undersized as Rossi.

I’d drop Benson for Rossi. I really feel that both Rossi and Eklund are talented players, but the players surrounding Rossi give him the better potential in my opinion.
how many do you keep? while Benson adjusts to NHL and is not a stud every day, he is 18...he will be a very good and maybe a star player in this league for long time...if you dont keep minors and keep no more than 10 players than drop but otehrwise you keep him. Other 2 guys have also excellent future ahead of them but as of now, i would rank them like this for the future:
Benson/Rossi
Eklund

We use a salary cap for keepers, so the number is basically unlimited. All three players have about the same cap hit, though Rossi is only signed through next season while Eklund and Benson are signed through 25-26, giving them a (very) marginal edge in keeper value.
I forgot to clarify in my original post that I'm in win-now mode, which is why I was thinking about swapping Benson out for Rossi or Eklund. My idea being that they would both provide more value this season while having roughly equal trade value while I look to upgrade my team.

In my mind the win now mode you put the years the players are signed through on the back burner and you go get the best player that can help your team now. I think that player is Rossi. He has the better players around him than Eklund and the potential for more production is there for Rossi.
I would go with both Rossi & Eklund over Benson, especially if you're in win-now mode. I'd lean slightly towards Rossi, given the stronger supporting cast, while still having the runway fairly clear for L1/PP1 minutes this year and in the years to come.
Even long-term, all 3 have similar upsides, but I think Benson brings more uncertainty given his age/experience.

Actually, I would do this:
1. Trade him for Jenner.
2. Stick Jenner on IR.
3. Pick up the guy you want from the pool.

Eklund and Rossi are both a tier above Benson. Benson middle six quality. Eklund and Rossi both top line quality.
Both players are better options than Benson.
I like Rossi's situation the best and I think all have similar upside.
Rossi had severe Covid to deal with and MIN really wanted him to straighten out his 2-way game as a center, hence the time in the AHL shouldn't be a cause for concern IMO.
