    Default Sergachev or Carlson - Who to trade away

    I have had the luxury of drafting BOTH Carlson and Sergachev , been killing me

    I'd like to pair one with a another player and ship them out, but I'm having trouble deciding.

    Carlson gets the better deployment but the Caps offense has been dreadful...

    Sergachev's performance last yr was tied with the injuries to Hedman and dialing back his usage to help him out. So Serg got a lot more PP time, 1st line minutes, and things like that. This yr, Hedman is healthy and getting that much prized PP1 time.

    I would trade Serg as I also think there's a bit more trade value tied to him by others due to his year last yr. You might be able to get more for him.

    They're both fairly identical which I'm not sure if that surprises me or not. So far this season (note the GP difference):

    Carlson -> 22 GP, 14 PTS (1G, 13A), 4 PPP, 49 SOG, 10 Hits, 49 Bks

    Sergachev -> 26 GP, 17 PTS (2G, 15A), 7 PPP, 40 SOG, 19 Hits, 49 Bks

    I agree that Sergachev would get more attention, Carlson to me frequently flies under the radar and never seems to get the return he probably should.

    I'd also say that if anything, Carlson has room to grow. More games remaining, cold underlying stats almost across the board and Washington is currently last in PP conversion rate which (probably) should improve.

    So I'd try to keep Carlson
    Keep 3 League, 14 team H2H, Roster: 6F, 4D, 4BN, 2G

    Awesome, thanks !

    The point and shots from both have been ok, but it's just mainly the +/- I'm worried about. The -13 Sergachev has puts me middle of the pack in that category. League is rotisserie

    True it hasn't been great, historically he's never been in the minus so it could be the result of not having Vasilevskiy in net for most the season. Not sure moving forward what you can expect.

    This is an excellent point. Sergachev has never had a negative plus minus season. Vasilevskiy may be the reason why and he's back. It makes sense that from now forward, Sergachev should be even or plus. Another thing is that Sergachev's PDO is one of the lowest in the league for an every-game player. This year, for whatever reason, the Lightning can't shoot or make saves when he's on the ice. Last year his PDO was just about 1.000 or in the middle of the pack. It is possible that everyone around turns into terrible players while Sergachev is on the ice, but it isn't usually like this, so we can expect (but not guarantee) positive regression with respect to his point totals and +/-.
