Im obsessed with Carlsson but scoring D with the potential of L Hughes are just too rare.
He could literally end up being the top fantasy defenseman in the league within three years.

All of you are probably correct here with stating go with Hughes at the D position. I however am a huge Ducks fan and I have been watching Carlson and he is a special player. This young core of talent that the Ducks have now seem to be coming together and Carlson is at the center of it.
Any concern for Hughes' lack of grit stats for this league? Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Hughes but in a league with Hits and Blocks I always find I am chasing those stats when I have a D that get very little in those categories. Hughes has 6 hits and 12 blocks in 22 games this year.
I have Luke, Quinn, and Heiskanen in a league with similar settings and am always looking for grit with other players.

I think that the advantage of Hughes as a top scoring D could be negated by having a top scoring center with more physicality and someone who will garner a ton of faceoff wins in the future.
Given your specific roster, Leo could be your top center as soon as next year, with Kopitar aging out, and Fantilli 3rd in depth. You have a solid roster of D-men in their prime too. I would keep Leo.
