Help me make a trade for a C please!

Team and league in sig.

GM with abundance of C approached me about a potential trade because he keeps having to sit them due to limited C spots.

His C are: Mackninon, Zibanejad, and Trochek

He wants a W in return. I told him Miller and Tkachuk are off limits (they’re just too good in our format). I mentioned Svech + Toffoli for either Toechek or Zib, but he has inquired about Meier.

What do we think? Is there a trade that would work well for me? Is Meier really gonna drop off significantly from last year and worth the trade?

I'd offer him Meier for either Trocheck or Zibanejad straight up and see if he'd bite.

You can afford to deal Meier and I think he's a round peg trying to fit into a square hole in New Jersey. If you can get Zibs for him straight up I'd take that in a heartbeat. Trocheck has less lure for me, so they'd need to add a kicker to make that a deal I'd consider.

I would ask about the availability of MacKinnon if you made Meier available. I wouldn’t hesitate in moving Meier, just something about his deployment and NJ system don’t seem to mess to provide our expectations. If MacKinnon isn’t available then target Zibs straight up. With Meier being on your I/R you will probably have to drop a player to accommodate MAC/Zibs in return. Good luck.
