Fun note, He had a $2m signing bonus, and was under contract for 19/82 games. So he made $2,463,414 for 16 games played. Which is equivalent to a $12,624,996 contract, which would be 3rd in salary this yr and 1st in Caphit.

You would think at this point that someone would have come forward and said "don't be ridiculous, that's not what happened", or at least give a clue about the actual reasoning that would dispel that idea so it's not swirling around out there. I'm still reluctant to believe such a crazy story but you'd think they'd want to put that to bed quick rather than let it marinate like this.

Multiple reporters have confirmed the disgusting rumour surrounding impropriety are 100% false. Further propagating said rumour is shameful and does nothing except damage an innocent couples relationship between each other and their community. The hockey community celebrating and laughing about said rumour is just another disgusting black mark in a long lime of them.

The Blackhawks also not coming up to bat for their player during the last 48hrs is mind blowing to me. I know they have to stay tightlipped on what happened before the loose ends are tied up, but you can have your PR team make a statement about how they can't comment on what happened, they can comment on what didn't happen and that the rumour is 100% false.

I've always wondered what goes on at some of these companies PR departments. Just weird how they relied on insiders to say it. And the only one I really saw come out was Seravalli, and he did that way to late. Way to late in terms of if the Blackhawks told him to say it. Seravalli should have gotten the news of the false rumour this morning to stop this if the Blackhawks were actually thinking.

The rumour mill was on twitter and not one top reporter wanted to say anything on twitter about it. As immature the rumour is, it doesn't change the fact the Blackhawks didn't try to stop it. Or did any of the top reporters step up to put it in writing.

Wyshynski retweeted Roumeliotis report. But again, more tweets about Kane signing or the Minnesota coach firing. It was just not handled well across the board. Would have stopped if the Blackhawks stepped up.

Also addressing an obviously fake rumour would just send more people to search out said rumour. Blaming this on "insider reporting" is just trying to absolve your own actions. "You" in this case is intended in the royal sense, not specifically directed at yourself.
