Corey Perry situation - UPDATE: cleared waivers; contract terminated

Strange situation in Chicago as Perry has been away from the team for a few days and the team hasn't really said why. It doesn't appear to be performance related, something else is going on. Don't want to speculate but wondered if anyone following the story has any insight into what might be actually going on here.

Didn’t they have a “closed door meeting “ not that long ago (which was obviously deemed strange early in the year and a rebuilding club)? I wonder if that had some type of implication?

Elliot Friedman mentioned something about Perry's agents comments.

"Stepping away for personal reasons." That would be fine in some cases but Davidson said it was a TEAM decision.

Something is off. My guess is that the situation may get worse, as both want to be seen as deciding on the absence. Too bad, because I always like Perry.

This is awesome. I've always liked Perry's sense of humour and I regard him highly. This is an interesting situation and my head goes to there being yet another blemish on Chicago as an organization.
