Stuart Skinner - Buy low or stay away?

With Skinner getting absolutely shelled for the second straight night, I'm wondering if it would be worth trying to pick him up for pennies on the dollar. At this point, it seems like the Oilers have to make a trade for another goalie in the very near future with Skinner likely being relegated to the backup or even being sent to join Campbell in the AHL. But we use a salary cap for keepers and my Saros/Demko/Swayman combo will be pretty pricey next season so adding a fairly cheap Skinner is potentially intriguing, assuming that he's still the Oilers likely goalie of the future (and doesn't get included in whatever package the Oilers send the other way).

I don't have a trade on the table or even a specific offer in mind yet, more just wondering what everyone's thoughts are on Skinner's value in keeper leagues and if it's even worth trying to pursue him.

I think that he's a buy low, and that he's likely to be in some team's future plans if it's not the Oilers.

Well, he's essentially a free option at this point. He's such a dead weight this yr that if you have a free roster spot to sit him on the bench until he rights the ship, why not.

Saros ($5m), Demko ($5m), and Swayman (RFA), isn't going to be a huge issue capwise if you're dealing with it this yr fine. Swayman isn't getting more than $7m.

I think you're trying to over-pivot in all honesty. I wouldn't try to adjust your goaltending.

If I needed a tender, I might want to snatch him but your goalies are staked. Don't pick up that anchor.
