What would be a painful Stanley Cup Finals for you to watch?

For me, it would be Toronto vs Vancouver. I can't root against my home town, but four Stanley Cup Finals losses? Philadelphia has 6, but at least they won two before then. tutuappvidmate

As an Oiler fan:

Calgary v. Toronto is the worst thing I can imagine.
Our biggest rival (Calgary) vs. the team all other Canadian fans bitch about taking all the spotlight (Toronto).
There would be no good possible outcome.

Tampa vs Vegas- Not a fan of either team's core and their cap circumvention BS which directly led to their Cups.

Most years I would say Boston as well but besides Marchand, I don't have much of an issue with any them. (Figure Lucic is gone now.)

Not just saying this as a Canucks fan but an all Canadian final would be amazing. Also their game this year despite Vancouver losing 5-2 had 2 fights in it and was played emotionally. They both have big offensive weapons. I think this would be a joy to watch.

i love my leafs but im big hockey fan period...so i like to watch good hockey and like to watch big hockey markets...so i have different approach here...

Arizona or Seattle against CBJ or NYI (i realize the last one here has rich history but not much in terms of good hockey lately)

I don't want to see teams who have just won it come back again, so Vegas v. Tampa would be my least favourite.

Montreal vs Pittsburgh (same as above)
Toronto vs Pittsburgh (same as above)

If I have to choose one that can logistically happen in a not COIVD season it would Montreal and Calgary.

If we are talking pure near-recent watch of two teams:
Arizona vs. NYI, for me.

Arizona is just the nastiest team in the NHL these days with their owner & arena situation.
There's no superstar power there... no flare, no cool identity.
(Not a knock on their fans, players or staff... and a Cup Final in a barn would be a pretty cool thing for anybody having a ticket).

The Isles are just not fun to watch.
I don't think I've held an Islander on either of fantasy teams for a full year in... who knows how long.

Arizona vs. NYI, for me.

Arizona is just the nastiest team in the NHL these days with their owner & arena situation.
There's no superstar power there... no flare, no cool identity.

I think Arizona is one of the lowkey most entertaining teams in the league. Keller and Schmaltz have great chemistry and you can just tell Cooley is going to be a star. Now throw in Durzi and they have an entertaining PP. I watched the Arizona/Columbus game last and was thoroughly entertained.

Poor viewership:
Tampa vs Vegas. I truly don't care about these two. The viewer fatigue is real.

Teams that would be painful to watch:
NYI vs Arizona/Anaheim. NYI is so boring. Arizona/Anaheim is too young to play against that style.

Fandom hate:
Vegas vs Boston/MTL. I'm a Leafs fan. Self explanatory on the Eastern opponents.

I'm not sure that there is one, although Seattle would be rough for me as a Flyers fan. We just saw Vegas, and it's disappointing how little sustained success we've had since the glory days. I don't mind being good to very good and not winning, I mind being irrelevant and incompetent.

The teams I used to hate aren't really that hated now by me now: old rivals like Boston & Montreal & the Islanders,.
