Shesterkin, Necas for Cooley, Caufield
League in sig (pts only cap league), I'm already looking to retool as my team has lost all of their matchups, effectively ending what could have been a contending season.
I would trade Shesterkin, Necas for Cooley, Caufield. The way I see it, I could maybe work with that trade if Cooley and Caufield become stars shortly. I'm asking for an early pick but the other owner does not want to bite. I have a hard time determining if I'm asking for fair value or not (in either direction).
What say you?

without Necas this is probably still a no but maybe i could be convinced to do it. With Necas i see it as one sided deal against you.

We keep 8 players, any position, and my goalie plan will have to be thought again shortly. Before the 2025-2026 season, we will install a new rule preventing GMs to keep a player for more than 4 years
. So I'll need to trade Shesterkin and add a goalie somehow until now and then, Samsonov and Woll can be serviceable this year at least

I should add that I would look to keep Cooley and maybe Caulfield if I were to do this deal, but maybe I'm overestimating their respective upside
Also Goalies are worth 2pts per win, 1pt per OTL, 1pt per shutouts

i dont think you overestimating the upside, but its an upside, Igor is already there and necas maybe having down year but was at 70 points last year and he aint too far from that pace right now either.

Given these settings, this isn't close to enough. I originally thought Caufield was on his last year of an ELC, but actually, he's already the highest paid guy involved.
I rank the assets:
Shesterkin - most elite player, and reasonable cap hit.
Cooley - super cheap for a few years, and longer term upside
Necas - productive player who is paid pretty cheaply right now, pending RFA.
Caulfield - point per game upside, but has had trouble staying healthy, and will the most expensive of these guys until Shesterkin signs his next deal at least.

Igor is probably the goalie with the best value in fantasy so I think you can ask a lot more…like….a lot.
In my league, Igor would net you 2-3 superstars easily.

Shesterkin is a guy you'll regret trading because he's hard to replace. Forwards and D are easily replaced. Keep Shesterkin and trade other assets if you want.
