LA is leaky too. Probably leaking more than the Jays. Manager Dave Roberts admitted to meeting him and then the GM comes out and wont admit anything publicly. The only leaks coming out of Toronto is from the media, and you cant control them. If anything, the Jays are doing their best NOT to say anything.

    Jon Morosi:
Big news today: Juan Soto to the Yankees is gaining momentum, per this @jackcurryyes report
    JackCurryYes
As we reported on Hot Stove last night, the Yankees intensified efforts to acquire Soto. Those talks have continued and a trade is likely. Keep an eye on King and Thorpe. Padres need pitchers and those two could headline a trade. Would think Yankees will part with 4 or 5 players.
    Omg Jays...does this mean....

Verdugo not rumoured to be apart of the potential Soto trade. Worked long into the night and heavy this morning apparently. Likely a long process getting medical reports examined for pitching prospects and the amount of players they are rumoured to be acquiring. Morosi is saying King and Thorpe are the key names involved, and perhaps as early as today it will get done.

Orioles (rumoured) to have signed Kimbrel.

There goes one of the Jays backup plans if Ohtani falls through. To be honest, I am fine not trading away tons for Soto. His next contract is going to be gross.

I think the big thing for the Yankees are that they believe they can extend him (and they're pushing for it), which I think eases the trade pain. For Toronto, no way would he extend there. But ya that deal is gonna be gross after turning down a $440m deal 2yrs ago. I also don't understand what their OF plan is. I know they want to do Soto (LF), Judge (CF), Verdugo (RF), and Grisham (BN), but wow. Judge in CF...Has nothing to do with talent, but with his health.

For the Jays, I'd assume the equivalent would be Manoah, Teidemann, Bager/Zulueta/Santos level of prospect. Which is awful for the Jays.

But if you're the Yankees...why would you empty the system for a guy you can sign in 12 months...or trade for in 7months for less.

Ya, I agree. I am glad the Yankees decided to go this route and not Shatkins.

Wow... that is a rich outfield.

It really sucks for teams like the Padres who try to be good... then turn around and have to make trades like these.

Baseball is in a weird spot for tanking/going for it.

Diamondbacks had 84 wins and made it to the world series.
Mets and Padres spent a lot of money to go for it and failed miserably.
As, KCR, and CWS all did horribly and didn't get a top 3 pick.

The draft is not rewarding the worst team anymore (good). The model of spending hard has failed hard. But you have a team that just snuck into the playoffs make a LOT of money.

omg...this is hilarious. There's a dumb rumour that's suggesting Ohtani's dog's name is tied to a team he wants to play for? WTF lol, these guys are desperate for stories lol.
