My goalie situation just became a nightmare. Help!
I sure looked strong going into the season with Andersen and Shesterkin figuring to get me lots of starts, and Vas on IR due back late November. Then Andersen gets dinged and I pick up Woll, who looks like a steal and probably taking the #1 G slot in TOR, Until he didn't. Then Shesterkin gets dinged, DTD, and now Andersen has a blood clotting issue. I can't count on Woll and Shesterkin to get me 4 starts/week. So I need someone. And I will need to drop someone, but with Hischier out for a while and no IR slot for him, I hate to drop a F or a D. So... do I bail on Woll for a true #1? Or drop Freddy and figure that if he gets healthy I might be able to nab him again? And who to pick up? Here are the likely candidates:
Varley
Reimer
Quick
Husso
Markstrom
Merziklins
Allen
There are others but I'm not sure any of them have enough TOI to move the needle for me. Seems that of this group Husso, Markstrom and Merziklins are the only ones with a lot of TOI, but maybe Quick will get more if Shesterkin is out for any significant time.
What if I dropped both Andersen and Woll and pick up Quick and Husso? Too bold a move? At least I'd have the NYR duo locked up and maybe can get enough starts. Thanks guys. Will rep!
