Voronkov

Voronkov actually shifted to center December 1st and has been taking 10+ draws since about then.
He's been playing on PP1 since around that time too.

The big thing is it seems he got the green light to shoot more.
Prior to Jan15, he was mostly a 0/1/2 sort of SOG/gp player.
Jan 15th vs Vancouver he got 9sog.
And since then he's had 3/1/1/3/3/4.

I added him in one league a week or so ago... simply because he was best wing-eligible FOW guy.
But CBJ is using him nicely.

Part of this is that CBJ (and... as.i.said) finally got Fantilli off the center dot.
That was just way, way, WAY too big an expectation of CBJ on the kid in his rookie season.
All for the better.

CBJ does... roll 4 fairly balanced lines.
And so almost everybody's TOI is fairly balanced.
**And, yes, CBJ's coach loves, loves, loves to have his 4th line hustlers/forecheckers out there a LOT!**

Notably - Fantilli's line has gotten outshot and outscored all year. Doesn't matter who he plays with.
He's a pretty shitty two-way player (at this stage of his NHL career... as a rookie. A real anchor, in a bad way, for anybody watching... I honestly feel sorry for whoever has to play with him).
Just check his SF/SA split.

But... anyways... back to Voronkov - his hits may be held back by the two-way responsibilities of playing center.
Pretty amazing though to play center, as a young player, WITH two young players (KJ & Marchenko) and have a 29/19 shot split thru last 10gp.
That's pretty impressive.

Even more impressive given he barely played any centre in his final 2 years in Kazan. His line with Radulov on the right side and Ilya Safonov at centre was rarely broken apart.

To answer darkwingpuck's question about Voronkov in a banger league. I'll assume most pleased with his production in multi-cat are like me. I looked forward to category filling with some offense sprinkled in from him, if instead I get an unexpected heaping of offense with a sprinkling of category filling I'm pleased as peach. I can get hits elsewhere and maybe Voronkov will eventually step up across the board.

Not for me. Tolvanen represents Voronkov's best case scenario.

Whether he fits in above Tolvanen... IDK... maybe.
When you are talking about the last player on your roster... you just go with boom vs. bust potential or upcoming schedule.

Laine is in player assistance.
Fantilli is going to IR for 8 weeks.
There's a lot of minutes there for Voronkov.
I'd probably ride him over Tolvanen... yeah.
