As I said in my column, I - and seemingly you - fell victim to recency bias, meaning that we saw something done the previous season, and by someone who unlike Dahlin is on the back end of his career, and thus felt it could become the new normal, rather than pausing to consider how long it'd been since it previously occurred. Attributing it to Dahlin is less the error in my book than having predicted it would happen again right away.

My other polls aren't predictions though. They are just me tossing out the 20 names I think, on paper, make the most sense. I suppose in some way me landing on those 20 versus others represents a prediction of sorts, but I don't really see it that way. I'm not trying to make any excuses, but I see the 15 forecasts versus my other polls as apples versus oranges.

Even if you aren't considering them predictions, I think people vote (at least I do) for them as a form of prediction.

- Maccelli (sophomore slump and too much competition)

My fearless forecast:

- Matheson 60+ pace and Suzuki 75+ pace

Can't believe my forecast didn't come true :-/

Nailing too many of these forecasts would probably mean they were too safe. All options this year look like they were in the low % chance of happening. Only the "None of the above" forecast came true.
