Elvis very slightly. I think Arizona will be an improved team but still behind Columbus.

I prefer Vejmelka. I think both teams have some potential, but will fall short, however, when you figure 2/3 of the schedule is in-Conference, the East is just way more loaded. More room for Vejmelka and the Coyotes to steal some wins.

For me it’s Merz and it’s not really close. Main reason is the D now assembled in Columbus. Either one could really go either way but I like the assembled team in front of Merzlikins a lot better.

Elvis, and it's not really that close. If you look at the Blue Jackets defense core, they are stacked pretty strong. He'll look a lot better this year depending on the health of the team in front of him.

I don't think either goalie is cooked, and both are talented enough to be NHL starters.
However, I like Columbus' blue line more. The points about the NHL West being weaker are also valid.
What are your goalie cats? I do not believe fully standard categories truly exist.

Elvis. Columbus is going to be motivated this season and their D core has improved immensely with Provorov, Severson, and a healthy Werenski.
I think Arizona will surprise a bit this season too, but I am taking Elvis pretty easily here.

I like Vejmelka between these two. He's been the better goalie for the past two seasons so not sure why that would change.
Columbus may be the one team in they league that is more of a mess than Arizona.

At least Columbus plays in an NHL arena. To say they are more of a mess than Arizona tells me you’re not paying attention to their off-season and focusing solely on the coaching change.

I don't really like either. But I might lean Vejmelka just because of the s*** show that could be CBJ. Sure CBJ has more talent, but the whole Babcock situation scares me. It reminds me of the year Patrick Roy walked away from the Avs at the last minute. Replacing a head coach and losing their season long plan and strategy shouldn't be understated. That year the Avs looked like a mess, had no systems, and a few individuals tried to do it all and make big individual plays every game. They had some good players, but if I recall, I think they had one of the worst regular season records in the modern era? That could be CBJ this year...
