    Default Struggling with keeper decisions

    Keep 8 4C/4LW/4RW/7D/2G
    G/A/HIT/PIM/PPP/SHP/SOG/GWG/BLK
    W SV SV% SO
    12 team H2H

This year we dropped +/- for HITS and GGA for Wins. This change has really messed with my ideal keepers and now i'm kind of lost. Could use any insight.

    Keepers:
    Kaprizov LW
    Gaudreau LW
    Guentzel LW
    Pettersson C
    Sorokin G

    I need 3 more:
Chabot D - my only D worth keeping
Vanecek G - thinking about keeping
    Giroux C/RW
Necas C/RW - my last slot?
    Reinhart C/RW
    Kadri C
    Trocheck C
Buchnevich C/LW - gets no respect, probably can redraft

Adding HITS this year really raises the stock of Kadri/Trocheck who were likely easy drops at a deep center position. I have found in this league that goalies tend to be kept despite the limited categories. If I let Vanecek go he will likely be the best goalie available however I really dislike holding 2 goalies in a keep 8 but with a middling cast of keepers this might be the move.

I’d keep Trocheck and Necas and then probably Vanecek with how they are valued, if you don’t want 2 goalies I’d keep Chabot

I think you have to keep Chabot with how many you start on defense and where your squad is at. I like Trocheck here with the categories as well. Necas my last choice. Could be talked into Reinhart.

I don't think you need the 2nd G here, but if you feel compelled it's not the worst choice.

I'd keep Chabot, given that you need 7D.

I'd keep Vanecek. If you say he'll be the best goalie in the draft, then good chance he'd go first round. Who else on your team would be selected first round? Don't think Trochek/Necas/Kadri/Giroux would. Furthermore, you have 2 goalies accounting for 31% of the categories (15.5% share each), and 19 players accounting for 69% of the categories (3.6% share each). So your goalies are WAAAAY more valuable than skaters in your league.

3rd keeper - I'd favour Necas (or Giroux), because the pool of RW's is much weaker than the pool of C's this year. So while I have Trochek slightly ahead of the other two, RW's would have a higher WAR, and you would have a smaller drop-off in picking another C in the draft.

I dont care if you start 7D, Chabot is not someone I would hold on to. Great when healthy but cant stay healthy. In his six full seasons with the Sens, he's made it to 70GP twice and never more than 71 games in any of the six seasons. I'd gamble on finding someone else in the draft, or simply redrafting him if you think he's the best option when you're up.

Stamkos, Tavares, Eichel, Mercer, JRobertson, RThomas, Kucherov, Nugent-Hopkins, Tuch, KConnor, Necas, Point, Konecny, SJarvis, Cozenz, Morrissey, Bouchard, Josi, Novak, Tolvanen, Peterka, Brink

This is a pretty unique take and I kind of like it. I'm guessing Chabot goes in the 3rd round if I release him and there will be several better options on D available.

Brant3 really solidified the idea of keeping Vanecek.

This has been really helpful - thanks gents.

Hintz and Hischier (both C) available for a cheap draft pick. Does that move the dial for anyone? Likely replacing Trocheck.

This has also given me some information that both Boston goalies will be released and Gustavsson. This could open the door to not keeping Vanecek

I like both guys and certainly like them more than Trocheck, but I also like Trocheck in this pool. If I was trading for one, it wouldn't be to drop Trocheck.

Hard for me to keep 3 pure Cs. Hintz maybe gets LW but still a tough one

    Trocheck
Chabot living up to his expectations on the health side of things.
