Alot of Talent... Drop 7

Hi Gents,

I have been blessed winning my league 2 out of the prior 3 years and coming second last year. While its a great problem to have, picking Keepers is always tough. I need to go into the keeper draft with 18 'active' NHL players, I currently have 25, so 7 to drop. My currently salary for the full 25 guys equates to $136M, salary cap for my league this year is $114M.

I also have a lot of defensemen on the roster (8), some will need to be dropped or traded before the start of the season.

Thinking that my for sure drops are as follows (gets me down to $110M of salary cap):

· J. Gaudreau (9.75M)

· J.T. Compher (5.1M)

· Morgan Rielly (7.5M)

· Anthony Duclair (3.0M)

· Ty Smith (0.8M)

Potential Final 2 drops could include:

· Kevin Fiala (7.9M)

· Kapppo Kakko (2.1M)

· Calen Addison (0.9M)

· Josh Morrissey (6.2M)

· McAvoy (9.5M)

Really dont want to drop any of those listed above. Any thoughts guys on what you would recommend?

Addison is going to be great value this year. I’d hang onto him. I think your other drops are ok.

I'm good with your "for sure" drops. Probably dropping McAvoy and Kakko as your two additional drops.

Im dropping McAvoy and either Kakko or Fiala depending on how you can afford to spend, and if guys like Fiala get dropped and redrafted. He's a drop + redraft option in my league for instance, though one of the better ones.

Addison is a definite keep for me. I'd keep Kakko at that cost, as well.

McAvoy is my first drop. He's very expensive, and does miss time.

I'm going off the board for the second drop, and that would be Ehlers. RW is shallower than LW, and while I realize that leaves you a bit thin at LW, I think Fiala & Morrissey are better keepers. If it has to be fiala versus Morrissey for some reason, keep Morrisey, and hope to get Fiala back.
