None of these guys are guys I'd want when the Habs are ready to compete.
Whoever they put on waivers won't get claimed - trust me. There's been much better, more promising goalies out there for the past few years. And almost nobody got claimed.
Comrie and Ingram, maybe? That's it. And they haven't exactly panned out as star or 1A goalies since.
The worst case scenario here would be to retain-and-trade as we have only one spot left I believe.
Let them battle for a spot. Pray a team NEEDS a goalie. Waive one, whoever.
And find a long-term solution.
PS : Since when are World Championships are solid measuring stick for players? I look at rosters and, boy, it was not the NHL... (But I'll admit, I didn't watch a single match of that tournament)
