Re: Volume goalies or stud goalies ?
I had a bit of this issue last yr in the PQMC. I went into the draft with Oettinger, and ended up drafting Francouz and Georgiev. I figured I could secure a top teams goalies tandem (Colorado), and couple with a volume starter (Oettinger).
As the season went on obviously Francouz was hurt and Georgiev stole the role. So I ended up going with just the 2 goalies essentially half the season. That worked as I only had 3 min starts, if I had 4 (like you) I wouldn't be doing this.
I don't think it's a wrong strategy to go with 2 solid goalies, but to draft that plan, in a 4min start league is wrong. You draft a set of goalies and hope to pivot mid-season.
So like others, I'd go volume, but be open to pivoting mid-season if your volume guys actually turn out strong.
