I love Sorokin but I'm going with Otteinger here. He should get more wins (like 4-8 more wins). I think on that team he could reach 40 wins. SO's are a wash and Sorokin edges him slightly in SV%. It's close but going with Ott.

Sorokin is better goalie but Oettinger is on better team… it’s tough call but I’m going with better player…Sorokin for me

I'd like to say if it's H2H or ROTO will change who you should pick, and if it's 1 or 2 goalies starting slots. My assumption is H2H and 2G starting slots.

I'll put this is as your season long projections:
Sorokin - 30W, 921s%, 6SO
Oettinger - 37W, 917s%, 5SO

Over a 22 week regular fantasy season you see roughly this as your week-to-week difference (it's actually a bit different due to fantasy season weeks vs Regular NHL season....but you get the idea):
Sorokin:
1.41W, 77.05saves/83.63shots, 921s%, 0.27SO

Oettinger:
1.68W, 70.91saves/77.27shots, 917s%, 0.23SO

Sorokin will face more shots, and have a SLIGHTLY smaller chance at wins. I'll take the higher chance at securing save percentage category with Sorokin over the possibility at the wins category. With a second goalie, you can make up that difference easier.

I have both guys in my top tier of goaltenders. Sorokin is a bit more proven and thus ranks higher. If I'm drafting, I'm probably ending up with neither, but I'm definitely waiting and trying to get Oettinger cheaper. If it's a keeper decision, then I'm keeping Sorokin.

Depends on weighting of the categories, if any; as well as number of starting and roster limit for goalies. And of course format, and maybe even quantity of back to backs.

It's been pretty well covered that Sorokin is your SV% guy, Oettinger is your Wins guy, and shutouts are a tossup.

Agreed. ROTO, 2 goalie slots, 164 game limit, no limit on how many goalies. Appreciate all the input. Goalie categories represent 3 of the 7 total categories, so a good portion. Already have Shesterkin as a keeper (3 keeper limit), debating locking up the goalie categories and going from there.

3 total keepers? I'd expect somebody to make a very solid offer for one of your guys. If not, who are your skater options?

10 teams, categories G,A,PP,SHP and then W, SV% and SO. Only 3 goalies are being kept out of that. Skater heavy. Random thought would be locking up goalies right off the bat and then dealing with skaters. In a position to add Otter or Sorokin to my Shesterkin and going from there.
