The first movie based on one of the author's works came out in the 1960s, and led to an Academy Award best actor nomination. The most recent Academy Award nomination for one of the author's work was also for best actor, albeit for a different character than the 1960s movie.
Double-fun bonus fact: The author's name has appeared once in a post on these boards, by lucafen about 7 years ago.
