Has anyone, or can anyone ask them on Twitter/X what happened and whether they plan on fixing them? Long shot they do anything but would be good to know if there are any planned updates.

"Hockey just opened for the season. We are still working with our data provider on changing position eligibility" is what they said.

My two main leagues are going into their 13th and 8th years on Yahoo. So it would suck to lose the historical data even if Fantrax is the better platform. Also I would think we would need 100% agreement from the existing GMs to make the switch given how long they’ve been going so long.

Sidney Crosby led the NHL with 1846 faceoffs last year. He's as clear a C-only as the NHL has, yet he's now C/LW. This is like calling Josh Allen a QB/WR. Could you imagine doing this to the fantasy football community? Please justify the Crosby C/LW decision.

There really are a bunch of clowns running yahoo. I remember a few years ago yahoo opened and they had Wade Dubliewicz in their database - a player who hadn't played in over a decade - presumably because someone behind the scenes thought it would be a funny troll of Leafs fans. Funny, sure, but also an unseriousness to it.

Yahoo has gone completely overboard with giving everyone multiple positions to start the year. McDavid (C/RW), Mackinnon (C/LW), Matthews (C/RW), Crosby (C/LW) are the obvious head scratchers, but it seems like half the league has dual.

It completely destroys the fun people derive from going with C/LW/RW/D/G leagues over F/D/G.

They’ll find the middle ground. I’m sure they’ve reacted to all the shrill freakouts they undoubtedly received when they initially trimmed the eligibility. If your draft doesn’t start tomorrow probably need to chill out.

How sure are we the changes will stay? I know they don't remove eligibilities during the season - but is there a small chance this was done by mistake?

Cozens now has a LW eligibility and in my league that counts FOWs that will help. Granted with all the high-end centers getting winger positions, I don't know how valuable this is. This really is a mess with Yahoo.

This isn't gonna last, guys. The fact that they did all this on 17th of August(in one day span) tells me that yahoo is just preparing for the new season, refreshing every players profile by adding them all the positions they played last season. Again, did Crosby ever played on LW?!? ... In the next couple of months yahoo slowly will be removing some of these added positions and about one month into the season everything will get to normal as far as position eligibility are concerned.

Yahoo! has NEVER removed positions during season. Never.
Once they've been added - they are there all through that season.
