Yahoo Position Eligibility Updates

Hello,

Does anyone know when yahoo updates their players' positional eligibility? I've done my leagues on fantrax and ESPN so I am new to yahoo. Right now only 2 players in the top 100 have dual eligibility.

Usually they do it throughout the season once they actually play in that position for 5-10 games. Its more defined for baseball, hockey positions can be amorphous especially the wings. They definitely took away alot of positions from players though which has nuked the fantasy value of many players like joe pavelski, ryan nugent hopkins, jordan kyrou to name a few.

A whole load of positions have been added. And when I say 'whole load', I mean over several pages worth of additions. They went from one extreme to another. Look at some of these:

McDavid has RW eligibility!!!
They gave Kucherov C and LW so now has all three!
Crosby with LW!!
Verhaeghe is still C only
Fiala / Keller given C eligibility
The list goes on and on...

Ridiculous.

Can someone on Twitter/X please ask them what were they thinking without simply blaming their data provider?

Oh man! They really did go completely in the opposite direction. To the point of ridiculousness. Mackinnon has LW eligibility now too. Mariner has all three.

If it stays like this, it’s hardly even worth differentiating positions at F.

Timmy Stutzle and all those FWs last year is still LW only.

As bad as it is, I gotta say it at least throws a wrench into things and makes fantasy a bit more fun.

If these rankings stick, it'll throw the real rankings haywire and real GMs will have a fun time drafting. Kopitar with LW eligibility turns him from an O-Rank of 98, to a real ranking of like top 40.

Turns Zib from like O-Rank of 25 to a real ranking way lower.

They did this once before where they were too generous with positions before the season started. They then reverted back and it was the one time they removed positions while the game was up. I want to say this was probably like 10 years ago? Hopefully they do it again this is pretty ridiculous

Some of the positions they handed out are completely ridiculous. As a GM that traded up for a bunch of better picks in this draft though, I'm completely happy with this lol.

But Crosby with LW status... I just can't even... like... ugh.

First they were way too stingy on the wing eligibility, and now they are way too generous. My bet is before the season and most drafts start, they will find some middle ground. If they don't though and leave it as such, should make for a fun/wild draft and season (imo).

I’ve long been a fan of Yahoo and reluctant to switch or join any leagues on other platforms. But if they enter the season with the positions as they are today, I will be advocating to move my leagues to fantrax next year
