5 years I’ve been in this league and 4 of them I’ve had first overall. It has never worked out well for me.
    Without me, it's only "aweso".

    I call miss deal!!

we should re do the order!

(4T2 - the price for first overall is going to need to be triple next year before anyone catches on)

(triple of nothing is still nothing)

I don't mind being at the turn though I'll need to brush up a bit cause all my attention has been on my hockey prep recently.

tom Brady is playing the best football of his career!

would be strategic to pair him and gronk on the turn!

    Okay!
That draft went okay... and was fun!

I was liking my start, but some reason my list I made I only had my top 51 players so after that I was just winging it - I proceeded to then draft 4 straight WR. After the draft, my friends cat (I'm not at home) decided to puke all over the room so now I gotta deal with that lol.
I think I still made some good picks even without a list... but time will tell.

All I'm saying is disaster was avoided :P

    Sent out two trades already.

    Draft Recap:

    Yahoo gives me an F.
I am going to use that as motivation to prove Yahoo wrong!
And this post as a reminder to stick it to Yahoo when I do better than they suggest. (1-13)

Yahoo even had a pun for my name which was 'Play Something Country' during the draft.
At the end of my report card it saaid maybe they should 'Play Something Else'

    My preparation was limited.
But I used my trusty source and use that list to enter the top 75 players from his list.
My plan is to always use his list in depth for the first 50-75 players.
Then after that start considering ADP on Yahoo to try getting some extra value.
Yahoo does not agree with Mr. Boone (who is ranked top 7 for 7 straight years by Fantasy Pros)

Round 1 - Bijan Robinson - I was hoping that Kelce was drafted before this pick so that my options would not have to include him. I could not force myself to pick a TE in the first round. So I ended up going all upside with the pick and picking the rookie RB.

Round 2 - Tony Pollard - In most of my mock drafts I was starting Bijan and then Garret Wilson. However Tony Pollard (Mr Boone has ranked @ #8 overall) was still available at my second round pick.

Round 3 - Jahmyr Gibbs - I was really hoping Waddle or Smith would make it to this pick. They were the last two WR in a Tier for me. But neither of them made it. The next Tier of WR was a big one for me. I would happy to get a couple out of that Tier - So I went with the last RB of a Tier. Starting with three RBS is quite risky... but I couldn't pass on either of these three at this point in the draft. Especially with what the Lions OC said this week about using Gibbs.

Round 4 - Mark Andrew - I never take TE early. But my WR tier was still huge and Mark Andrews is the only TE in Tier 2 between Tier Kelce and Tier 3. So I figured I could get some positional advantage at a onesie position and at this point I plan on waiting a long time for QB. I can not invest high picks on both a TE and a QB. If I would have known that Rhamondre would have been available at this pick I would have likely picked a WR in round 3 and picked Rhamondre in this round. Invictus got some great value there!

Round 5 - Tyler Lockett - I was debating Lockett and Aiyuk here. I was happy with either... but I wanted to try and get both. So I picked the one that the Yahoo Experts had ranked higher and had the higher ADP... but I was unable to get Aiyuk as he went the very next pick.

Round 6 - Diontae Johnson - I don't think Yahoo liked this pick very much. His Yahoo expert Ranking was around this value. But his ADP was lower but he was the top available player from the Tier of WR left - so I went with him. He won't get the goose-egg on TDs this year!

Round 7 - Mike Williams - Another WR from the tier that is not huge upside, but is not as bad as this ranking. I feel like LA Chargers perform better as a whole this year and Williams will have some huge games. I don't mind him as WR3 after I stacked up on RBs and a TE early.

Round 8 - Rachaad White Protecting my early investment in RBS, I select another one. I don't think TBay is going to be as bad as some are thinking. It sound like Mayfield is playing well in pre-season and Rachaad is a back that can also catch the ball if the team is down. I didn't want to not have decent bench options at RB. The WR tiers are so big for me and in a 2WR league there is so much more depth at WR. So I went with another RB here.

After 8 - (insert promo for After 8 chocolates here)

I have 4 RBs, a top end TE and 3 WR. My RBS are all upside picks. and my WR are all plain-jane picks. It ended up being my strategy for the rest of the draft as well.

Round 9 - Chris Godwin - Kirk was the top pick available in my tier of WR I was targeting. But after he went, I changed my focus back to Tamp Bay. After convincing myself that they will be alright, I decided I would take one of their two top WR. They were back to back in the rankings and I decided to go with Godwin and his precise route running and ability to get open could be huge for Baker this year. Baker had a great connection with a similar player in Jarvis Landry. So I hope Godwin can push for 100 receptions again this year, and in round 9, that is totally worth it. I know there isn't the huge upside that he had a few years ago... but I wanted more safety in my WR picks.

Round 10 - Raheem Mostert - According to Yahoo, this pick was the WORST pick of the draft. But its an upside RB pick. Sure his ADP was lower than this slot, but in mock drafts and best ball drafts he was going around this range. Things that held his ADP down were Jeff Wilson JR - who is now injured and might miss the whole season and the potential of Jonathan Taylor getting traded, which the deadline has passed. A RB for a team that has two explosive weapons at WR, in round 10. Yes please. My bet is that Mostert scores 5 TDs the play after Waddle or Hill get interfered with in the end zone.

Round 11 - Courtland Sutton -At this point teams were starting to take 2nd QBS, so I considered taking one. But there was three available in the Tier we were in. I doubted that between my two picks that all three of them would go, so I went with another WR. Denver only has 4 WR on their whole roster right now. And Jeudy is injured. On not to mention they hired a coaching genius to come in and hopefully fix things. So I made this pick fully betting on Coach Payton fixing Russel Wilson.

Round 12 - Geno Smith - Time to get my QB and I decide on Geno Smith. What he did last year was awesome. And Seattle is still reaping the benefits of the Russel Wilson trade. They added another exciting WR in Smith-Njigba and a pass catching running back. There is so many weapons for Smith. And does anyone remember where he ended up in QB rankings last year?? Oh yes... I do!! #5 in total fantasy points.... Let's Go!!!

Round 13 Van Jefferson- News out of LA Rams is that Kupp is seeking opinions on his hamstring... that doesn't sound good. And Stafford needs someone to pass to. IF Jefferson can stay healthy there could be a tonne of garbage time points for him.... and if he gets hurt or sucks... he gets drop... little to no risk here. And maybe some upside from a WR pick.

    Round 14 and 15 -
I picked the kicker on the best team in football in the 14th round in Jake Elliot. I know that Philly will score a lot of TDs and not give him much Field Goal opportunities... but I would rather have that in week one than take a risk on a kicker who might get a big game or get shut out. Jaxonville Jasguars D. I really wanted Baltimore D and their week 1 matchup against Houston. But I settled for Jaguars and their week one matchup against a different rookie QB in Indy.

Above is the first 8 round of the Tier 1 Draft.

I am happy with my draft compared to Tier 1.

The two guys that aren't in the top 8 round that I drafted are Mostert and Jefferson.
Both these players have had significant news that has moved them up draft boards since Tier 1 drafted.

Overall I am happy happy happy with my draft.

Two of the top 12 of Tier I players.
Five of the top 30 of Tier I players.

    My draft:

Despite my C- rating, I like my team.

1.05 Nick Chubb. I wanted Ekeler and was hoping he’d slip to me at 5, but Invictus nabbed him. And so I went with the safest RB in Chubb. High floor, and a possibly higher ceiling with some extra receptions coming his way thanks to Hunt’s departure? Sign me up.

2.06 Josh Jacobs. Yes, I should’ve gone WR here but I love Jacobs. Despite getting this duo with my first two picks in just about every mock draft, I didn’t think Jacobs would fall to me in the second. I gladly took him.

3.05 Lamar Jackson. If I wasn’t getting one of the Big Three QBs, my target was always Lamar. I reached for him a bit, but I wasn’t taking a chance on him not being there in Round 4. He’s gonna pop this season.

4.06 Calvin Ridley. Ok, WR here no matter what. Since I missed out on a reliable WR1, I had to swing a bit. Once Ridley finds his legs again, that Lawrence connection could be gold.

5.05 Darren Waller. In a recent practice, Waller was asked to sit out so Jones would throw to someone else. Waller should be the main target for the Giants. Praying he stays healthy.

6.06 James Cook. I like having a few RBs in the cupboard, and with BUF looking for Allen to run the ball a bit less, Cook should benefit.

7.05 DJ Moore. Had to get my WR2 and thought Moore was gonna go in Round 5. Fields can scramble, and Moore can get open. Cha-ching. Especially for a Round 7 selection.

8.06 Jordan Addison. He’s better than Jefferson! Just kidding, But he’s a skilled rookie WR who should find space with JJ taking all the coverages. This is a swing, but I think he’s got a legit shot at being a viable weekly option for me if Ridley or DJ falter.

9.05 David Montgomery. Another RB for the cupboard. DET runs the ball a lot, and while Gibbs will have big games, in Round 9 I’ll take the ground-and-pound RB who should get plenty of goal line work.

10.06 Jameson Williams. There was so much hype last year. I’ll wait out the suspension and hope he jumps in as one of the WR surprises of the second half. Similar to JJ taking the coverage for Addison, St Brown should be in fine form by the time Williams plays, so he’ll get open.

11.05 Jaylen Warren. Insurance RB for Najee, but I’ve seen plenty of posts saying it’s possible he takes over as the RB1 in PIT. Do I believe it? Not really, but with Pick 11, I’ll take a chance.

12.06 Elijah Moore. Super skilled WR who hasn’t found his groove. If Deshaun Watson can find his form, this could be my best value pick.

13.05 Quentin Johnston (traded away today for Rashod Bateman). I missed Bateman on my list (I wanted to stack him with Lamar), and so I took Johnston, who can potentially be the deep-threat WR to Herbert’s cannon of an arm. But I made the trade today for my stack. Johnston has big upside.

14.06 Younghoe Koo, 15.05 BALTIMORE. I seem to pick Koo every season. I like him. Ravens have a nice Week 1 matchup.
