Default Dahlin for Trouba, Holtz and a 2nd?

    League in my signature.

Discussions led to me offering my Trouba, Holtz and a 2nd in 2024 for Dahlin.

Good for me? Bad for me? I’m looking at repeating and I will worry about Dahlin huge contract next year when he signs it.

How did Dahlin and Trouba compare in scoring last season? My initial thought is that this is a good deal for you, but wanted to confirm scoring before making that decision.

    117 fantasy points for Dahlin
    91 fantasy points for Trouba

Dahlin getting paid huge after this season. Trouba contract is set for awhile.

I would take Dahlin, even with the upcoming contract.
Trouba is a multicat beast, but the amount of hits and blocks he puts up, combined with his age, and also the emergence of K'Andre Miller, I think he will slow down after another year or two. Dahlin is just getting started really.

You're right for cap concerns, but Dahlin is one of those players you build your team around and cement him in even if his cap hit is high. You save money elsewhere so that you can have guys like Dahlin on the team at fair market value.

If it sticks, I think it's good for you. Trouba is a beast in multicat formats but once you reduce those caps down in value like they are in this league, his value diminishes.

Trouba has superior value where hits and blocks are significantly weighted, but that's not so much the case in your league. I fully agree with the rest, this is a solid move for you, and you work the cap next year when you have to cross that bridge. I haven't given up on Holtz by any means, but he is likely a few years away, so your squad doesn't take a big hit there in the near term. Dahlin at this price is very reasonable.

I agree with the others, especially this. Because we are a hive mind at times, apparently.

If it was true multi cat Trouba would be Dahlin's equal or more, but with the age difference it'd still be okay.

Even with a new contract in the $10M range you should be able to recoup value on Dahlin if you decided to go that route so I'm all for spending futures on this upgrade. Dahlin is dynamite.

I'm not convinced Trouba will continue putting up this level of multi-cat production. Not a lot of PP time and I'm not sure he will always be healthy playing the way he does. I think it's a good sell-high on that front.
