    Nice buy!
Feels so good when your purchase works out.

I'm same way when I go to do a computer build.
Lots of research (mostly because I'm not staying on top of it) so I know exactly what I'm getting.

2.5 months into our 65" TV purchase... still super happy.
The wife and I have actually shifted from our main living room into the "kids room" with the 65" TV.
    We're here nightly.
Absolutely loving hockey on the bright SPORTS screen setting.

And incredibly fun to play MarioKart8 on a big (split) screen.

With Black Friday approaching... anybody gearing up for a big splurge?!?
Back when I was researching, I put a few TVs into a site called camelcamelcamel - which tracks prices across the internet.

A similar, slightly upgraded, Hisense U8K TV, 75", is going for under $1300 US right now.
Could be a good deal for anybody looking for a huge TV at a "not huge" price:

Of course - do your own research.
Good threads for TVs on avsforum.net... for most models:

This was purchased today my SO's bedroom in her new house from Best Buy:

Hisense - 32-Inch Class A4 Series Full HD 1080p LED Google TV
    https://www.bestbuy.com/site/hisense...?skuId=6550663

She needed another TV with HDMI as the main cable box is in the bedroom due to the house having 4 floors, and the office is on the top level. The bottom level is walk out basement with small patio.

Since she's moved out, one of my 27" tube TV's will be moving upstairs from the basement. There's a chance that I might splurge on a new TV later this year, but as the only person in home, I don't need a huge TV.

65” Samsung, 55” upstairs, two matching 32” tvs in opposite corners of man-cave.

12-team, H2H. Keep 12, but drop 2 of top four skaters, and also 2 of next six, then five more (from end-of-year rankings). One GK max.

    Question:

Why would I want a smart TV? I have no need that I can see for Google, etc to be linked to my TV. Setting up her new TV and pairing the TV's to the cable boxes was a massive PITA.

If you cast to the TV it's handy. If you don't cast things, it's pointless.

I have mine set up as a slideshow for pictures (hung on the wall in a frame), I cast from my phone for Disney+ and what not, I stream sports and cast from my Laptop sometimes to the TV.

Besides that it's just a buggy mess sometimes.

    Recently purchased a Samsung 65' S90C along with a Samsung Q-Series Soundbar HW-Q910C

Stream most of my content through an NVIDIA Shield PRO and also have a PS5.

Have a TV receiver/subscription for sports.

    Very happy with my setup.

    ^You're doing it right!
I've been reading up on over past few months about the NVIDIA Shield PRO.
    I'm considering it...
And I'd like to get a PS5 (if the price... is right)... just for the 4K disc streaming.

    (PS4 - not cutting it - for DVD to our 65". )

That S90C gets a damn fine score from RTINGS... a 9.0.
    Nice choice!!!

Thanks for the replies. I saw a 55" Amazon Fire TV locally for $199, but I realized that while I might like a bigger TV, I have no need for one.

I'm a guy whose primary computer is a desktop running Windows 8 with downgrade rights to 7. Yes seriously.

Same, except my desktop is running Windows 11. I recently built a new one so it only made sense for me to go straight to 11.
Really hoping games start to support DirectStorage.

I used to build my own, but the last couple I have just gone to MicroCenter and bought something that worked out of the box. I decided that all the tech work for significant others and family meant that I should save my time on my own gaming setups with classic stuff. Still have a standup arcade machine project waiting.
