I agree. Dumba has never been particularly good on the PP and he wasn't very good overall last season.

Dumba is likely going to get top pairing minutes. I don't see him running the powerplay, though.

It is going to be interesting to see how all this plays out in the Desert. I've never been a fan of Dumba but he lands in a position where for a number of "on paper" reasons he is the big dog on the Yotes back end. What happens on the ice may be a different story however. I'm far from certain that he can out play either Valimaki and Durzi as an offensive contributor and truly establish himself as the de facto better offensive D option in the Desert. IMO, I don't think he is. We'll see what happens, it will be a good story to follow.

Dumba is so long removed from his career year. We saw a resurgence with Karlsson, but he's just built different.
I think Dumba gets a try on PP1, but I don't think he sticks for any significant amount of time.

Oof poor Dumba… really not sure what the knock on him is, rumored to be traded for years and then no one signs him. Has to be more to the story right?
And I’m still hanging on to Valimaki.

For all the talk of valimaki vs durzi, I saw an interview a week ago with the coyotes GM saying that durzi would be running their first PP. Now obviously that could change but that's why they brought him in.
I don't see signing dumba changing that. Hasn't been good offensively for a while
I see durzi turning into a gostisbehere. He's proven he can run a PP very well but he was horrible defensively last year.

I believe Dumba is one of those locker room glue guys - for that reason I’m surprised a contender didn’t jump on this type of deal.
He’s never been the same after that awful bicep muscle tear (or was it pec?) - lost all the velocity from that world class slapper. But still pretty good value at $3.9m with his skill and intangibles.

These days, teams are thinking "OK, is anybody giving draft picks for this guy at 50% ($1.95m)?"
ANA got "something" for Klingberg last year.
ARI can probably get "something" for Dumba this year.
Other than landing in San Jose - this is probably best location for him to have fantasy upside for this year.
