Troy Terry signs a 7yr, $7aav deal with the Ducks

10 Team No Trade List starts July 1st, 2025. No signing bonuses reported. Straight base salary of $7m every year.

And to think all the hype was on his Denver teammate Borgstrom in college.

Terry was hidden almost from day one. entered college the same time, but Terry almost a full year younger.
One of the first hidden gems I ever uncovered in fantasy hockey.

he already has 67 and 61pt seasons under his belt. I'm not sure it's a grow into contract.
pretty fair value. There's still room for upside with him.
With scoring on the upswing... and offensive reinforcements coming, pt/gm isn't much of a stretch or far off.

This is good signing for Terry.

Hopefully Zegras is please with only making a little more than Terry, or else this could be back-breaking for Anaheim

If Zegras and then McTavish both think they are worth significantly more than Terry.... Yikes.

ANA is probably going to have to pony up $7.75m-ish x 8yr to Zegras.
He hasn't yet done Hughes/Stutzle-like things... so they might be able to get him at less than $8m.

I would think both parties should be fine with that kind of number.
But I could also see them just bridging Zegras... since they are cheap asses.
It'll cost them though - if they let Zegras pop to over 80pts... he'll be asking $9m after a 2 or 3 yr bridge.

Personally, if he wants $8m x 8yr... with the rising cap... I'd think ANA should consider it now.
