    Of this list, I like:

Scott Perunovich - can he stay healthy? Probably not, but worth a shot, especially if you have IR.
Adam Boqvist - Thought to have the upside for it.
J.J. Moser - unlikely to be a PP1 guy, but PP2 and decent minutes are in play.
Ty Smith - might get dealt in a package for Karlsson.
Justin Barron - a sneakily decent longshot option. Matheson does get hurt.
Erik Gustafsson - PP is all he's good for. He/'s just unlikely to get a bunch of time.
Thomas Harley - fighting with Lundkvist for PP2?

DeAngelo is certainly not available, right?

Personally I don't hate Faber, with Dumba gone and Addison who is awful defensively, Faber is not in a bad position !

For me, Perunovich's upside is a distant #1.
I think he has massive upside and there was some suggestion with the Kevin Hayes trade that STL was looking to move Krug off-roster.
If that happens - and if Perunovich can stay healthy - then *pop* goes the Perunovich.

Ty Smith - for me - is either 2nd or last on this list.
If the Karlsson-to-PIT trade happens, I'm about 75% that Ty Smith is going the other way.
PIT wouldn't need him and SJ - who is starving for offensive-Dmen - does.
Ty Smith immediately moves into patrolling the SJ PP1 unit.

    JJ Moser is my #3.
If Cooley signs, Arizona suddenly (surprisingly) has quite a bit of offensive-forward-scoring depth.
There could be a lot of points there.

Adam Boqvist is going to put some solid points too.
But he won't unseat Werenski from the dynamic CBJ PP1.
And with Severson and Provorov on roster... there's too much competition for minutes.
I'd rank him higher if/had Severson/Provorov not joined... and Jiricek will be up very soon too.

[A super sleeper... is Leon Gawanke-SJ. You'll have to do your internet research, but Gawanke put up 20 goals in AHL last year. That's impressive in that league. He's been good with WPG's Manitoba Moose - but they never gave him an NHL promotion and I think he had his fill with that organization. He outed by signing for four years in German league (May, I think)... but then was able to get out of THAT if he signed an NHL contract. So SJ flipped Kniazev for Gawanke... and I'd imagine (???) that conversations between Grier and Gawanke's agent were that the guy would be given an honest shot at making the Sharks. I mean... the guy doesn't seem to need more AHL time. He also played 2nd/3rd highest TOI minutes for Germany's silver-medal team at last int'l - playing some PP/end-of-game minutes aside Seider. SJ is "best location" for any offensive-D these days... they have nothing there. I mean, they even traded Merkley off roster last year. Also - for Gawanke - he has fellow countryman Nico Sturm there - and sometimes that lockerroom stuff can go a ways towards a player "fitting in". DEEP DEEP sleeper, if Karlsson gets moved off roster.]

    Very interesting, thanks.

The Sharks also got Henry Thrun (NCAA) and Shakir Mukhamadulin (KHL) in their pipeline.

I feel you. In the same position, every year. Are we in the same league LOL.
(Likely not, as I own Perunovich, so he wouldn't be available).

Perunovich -- if healthy finally, has a shot at PP2.
Ty Smith -- if dealt, he may get a shot at PP time. Otherwise forget him behind Letang and Petry.
If Nils Lundqvist is indeed available, he's a very decent piece that could end up being PP2 most season. Unless it's Harley. But I'd shoot my shot with Lundqvist.

Faber might play, but will be the defensive responsability of whoever he plays with. Don't expect many points.

Gustafsson might go on for a few games if injuries happen. He's proven not to be reliable.

In Montreal, who knows... Behind Matheson, maybe Barron finally gets PP2. I would pick him above Harris.

Spence has a shot in LA for minutes and a few points with Durzi gone.

Boqvist is stuck behind at least 3 guys in CBS. If he's dealt, maybe.

Moser now has 2 players ahead of him, not even sure he'll get PP2 now.

Not mentionned, and guessing he's picked, but Cam York?
    Calen Addison?
