Vitek Vanecek's value / future

I'm in a cap, dynasty, pts only (wins = 2 pts for goalies) 14 team league.

I'm being offered Vitek Vanecek's, and I do need another goalie (I have Saros and F. Anderson for next year).

I'm thinking of dropping Anderson and trading for Vancek, but I don't know him well. Is there a good risk of him losing the net to another goalie soon in New Jersey?

Is he more or less valuable than Saros?

Should I jump on the occasion of trading for him?

Saros is one of the most valuable tenders in the league. The fact you’re wondering about Vitek should answer your question regarding his valuable compared to Saros. They’re not close. But I think Vitek is the likely #1 this year with Schmid trying to wrestle away starts. I think he’s close to Freddy IMO (who also has competition in Carolina x2)

What is the price for Vanacek?

Personally I think Andersen is the better goalie but he struggles with his health.

I felt Anderson was close but of lower value. He's a great goalie but is so injury prone (we don't have IR in our league). Vitek apart from reading his stats, I don't know him much. Schmid also.

I thought about drafting Edmonton's Skinner and dropping Anderson. Would that be a better decision in your opinion (vs trading for Vitek)?

We haven't discussed price yet. He asked me if I wanted him. This manager is very impulsive though. Sometimes a trade can be done in a few seconds with him, so I wanted to get a good idea of his value first before negotiating.

Anderson's a big gamble for me. I like the salary of the new contract, but the odds of staying healthy are so low with him.

Saros is tiers above Andersen & Vanecek at this moment. However your league is wins only which is a team stat, but goalie volume matters, and Saros is a workhorse.

Skinner should be good in your format as long as he holds the job, and I do think he's likely the guy there.
I like Vanecek a bit more than Skinner right now, but Schmid does look good. I don't think Schmid takes the job this year.

If you don't have IR, Anderson is a 3rd goalie

I would be nervous about Vanacek's status in New Jersey. I think they either bring in a top goalie and demote Schmid or they let Schmid and him fight for the job. Or they could trade him to another team to free up cap space for that top goalie.

Vanecek is huge wildcard at this point (limited track record, persistent rumours of NJ looking for a goalie upgrade). You know what you have in Freddie, and I would be happy to keep that.
