Slow Draft

WHA Theme. Team names are from the 1970’s World Hockey Association.

Head to Head Schedule. Our unique schedule helps the cream rise to the top. We have two divisions and each week you either play all of the teams in your own division or all of the teams in the other division, with an unbalanced schedule favoring division play.


Keeper System. Each season teams keep 8 “Major”’players by using a draft pick that is two rounds above where that player was selected in the previous draft, which means that no players drafted in the first two rounds can be kept, allowing top players to be available each year.

Minor League System. This season we are implementing a minor league system by having teams draft 4 minor leaguers (under 25 NHL games played that are signed or drafted by an NHL team). Minor league roster will then be expanded to its permanent size of 10, but minor league players can only be acquired via the annual draft or trade. Minor leaguers will be kept in the last rounds of each subsequent draft, however, upon “graduation” to “Major” player status must be kept using a draft pick beginning at the round they were originally drafted.
