TIL there was a Taylor Hall who played in the 80s. Whoops. 8/9 today.

I really didn’t like the “goalie” row today. That required zero thought. Although I tried to spice it up a bit by picking older goalies. Couldn’t do that for Seattle of course
    Without me, it's only "aweso".

8/9 thought Roloson played for EDM/ARI.

My new fun game is to see if I can plop Alex Galchenyuk down in a square somewhere. LOL. 22%.
This one was pretty easy. The "goalie" is just too easy.
They should start doing these like NY Times Crossword - where Friday is REALLY HARD.
Like on Friday: Goalies with less than 10 starts for team. That would be good.

    22/22/14
    26/46/48
    9/5/13

I enjoyed my bottom (Stars) row - as I conjured an old trade from around 2010/2011 (back when I joined the forums, there was a debate on which PIT young D-man would become the main PP1 guy. I got it wrong. Letang won. Paul Martin did not. And the third guy was eventually traded to DAL. I used one player in one DAL square and the main return player in the next DAL square. Fun!!!)

The middle (SEATTLE) row should have been the most guaranteed hit for EVERYBODY.
I mean, Seattle - if you can't nail down those players - you probably shouldn't be here!!!

^^ If you wanted to, you could have used all three players from that trade.
One of the players involved ended up playing for a lengthy time in Arizona.

I think the reason for the goalie squares is to put the focus on trying to think of the most obscure name possible if I had to guess. Personally I would prefer something a bit more original but that's what I think they were going for, just open the door wide open to obscure picks.

12 team H2H Most Cats Wins; Keep 6/winner keeps 7; G A PPP +/- SHP SOG HIT BLK PIM // W SV GAA SV% SHO
    3 C, 3 LW, 3 RW, 6D, 2G, 5 bench

C - McDavid, Crosby, Tavares, Hertl
    LW - DeBrincat, Boldy, Lafreniere
RW - Meier, Miller, Boeser, Nichushkin
    D - Dobson, Karlsson
    G - Jarry, Luukkonen

I think the end column is generally "EASY".
Some hockey fans only really know the best players on a team.
Since the best players rarely switch teams - at least the last column (awards, PIM, goalies, etc) gives people a chance to knock some answers out.
It's only fun if you feel like you can get some every time.

(There's still people on the graph getting only "1", "2", or "3"... and it's likely that column that they are getting!!!)

Yes. My Seattle goalie choice was the high percentage one of the 3 for me, and it was under 20%.

One thing I learned today is that I need to look at the whole grid. I learned this from the Baseball game, which Sports-Reference acquired. I decided that 200k with Houston was easy. Then I realized I need a Texas-Houston player and went, "crap" the easy one was also the easy one for that group.

Got my first ever 0.1% today in the BUF/TB slot and the player doesn’t show up on the list of guessed players at all. So maybe I’m the first to use that name?

Only went 8/9 because I accidentally plugged my first guess into the wrong slot. Really should have my coffee before attempting this

Ottawa stumped me bad today... if I dont' have answers after 5min, I just give up.
    (brain not working)

    x/25/54

Later today... I'll probably come across OTT/WAS and OTT/LA combinations.
As it turns out... I probably should've used my LA/TB guess in the OTT/LA spot and tried to recall the other side of the LA/TB trade for that square.

[I don't buy the number of 9/9 today... this was a tough one.]

.9% is a ex-Flyer that I used to like when I was younger - probably cause he has a cool name!

    Today's Puckdoku... YES.
Last Column: 5+ Teams Played Career! Alright (one of those has to be a Galchenyuk spot, LOL!)
Finally - a doku for the diehards.

[funny thing several people will probably realize... there's probably guys that fit in 6 squares... I thought of one and had to keep telling myself "Don't use him yet... don't use him until you are down to the last of these six squares!]
    [do you know the guy?]

EDIT: Down to my last two squares: ANA/NAS and NAS,5+ Teams. I have a guy for one square... gotta find a guy for the other!

    Done.
    19/26/5
    45/6/6
    22/17/2

Funny thing... the 45 was my last one... my brain just couldn't recall he played with NAS until I was forced to consider it. LOL. I've wiped that from my brain!
I ended up putting Mr.12-teams in the final spot for NAS 5+ teams... and he was only 6%. I wonder if he got play in the other available spots!!!

Strategy and patience played a key role in getting it today.

If you think of a match for both teams,
you had to sit back and think....
Did this player play for 5 plus teams?

I almost put my Nashville/Minny player in right off the hop.
Glad I didn't because I needed him for Nashville and 5+ teams.

    30/45/13
    45/1/2
    27/10/.3

    Toda was a great day!!
As I also got my first 9/9 for the MLB one.

It was probably the easiest one that they could have made for MLB.

    Column 1 - Blue Jays
    Column 3 - All Star
    Row 3 - 100+ RBI season.
