Rough day for that to happen for hockey fans.

I hate Twitter and don’t bother with it anymore anyway. Capfriendly seems to have the deals up quicker than the major networks now anyway

So people can now download the old 2015-16 version of twitter and that will bypass this current issue of rate limit issues.
Many twitter users and also reporters, etc that we all follow are doing this for a shot-term fix until who knows when.
I just downloaded it and it works perfectly again. Sure its the old look, but now I get all the news /tweets i always get.

Just an fyi....look it up, google it. Its easy.

So in about a month Tweetdeck, which is a popular Twitter site that displays tweets from accounts you follow/have on a list, in a more compact way, is going to be going behind the Twitter Blue paywall. That is more or less going to kill my interest in the site on desktop. I think I'm ready for a legit competitor to emerge. Either Bluesky or Instagram's new Threads app which is coming out.

One thing I will say about twitter in recent times, ever since they started charging for blue check mark by users names to verify accounts, it was tough sharing tweets from certain guys (Friedman for example no longer has a blue check mark) because I wasnt sure what was legit and what was a fake account. I hate that. F U Elon!

the comments section of certain tweets is sometimes interesting but they started inserting ads in between the comments and related tweets from other people that I don't follow so its hard to tell where the comments section stops

Yep that is one of the changes I hate. I mainly just use it for up to second news and sports. It's great for sports highlights on the fly. But equally annoying because of how the feed works now.

I dislike how Twitter changed. It was always supposed to be quick delivery of news/opinion. Removal of the blue check and the addition of like half a dozen other checks makes it so I need to double check news. The length of tweets is also annoying now. The trending section is annoying because it includes peoples handles now (If you look up Holl, anyone who has "Holl" in their handle comes up). Now the new Canadian Bill to remove links to news articles from social media...I just don't get it and it's just removing the reason why I go to Twitter.

I loved Twitter, I always used it for news. Especially during the Trump Presidency Era, it was entertaining. Now, it's just a bunch of dumb crap, especially when it's now just an extension of OF advertisement when I'm trying to figure out news on something.

Seems like a lot are attempting to go there. The older reporters/insiders might take there time to switch to a new format, but a lot of the younger ones have made a Threads account.
