Probably 50/50 of that... but also it's in the interest of the government to keep us in that bubble (easier to control the narrative after that, we saw it during the COVID... anyway), so our education system if really weak in that.
I also think that the "french mandatory for the GM and coach" comes much more from the French media instead of the general population... the fan want to watch a winning team, not whining in french.

LAK/WIN are closing in on a PLD for Vilardi+Iafallo+Kupari deal.

Kupari - 2018 20th overall RW. He is an RFA
Vilardi - 2017 11th overall RW,C. He is an RFA
Iafallo - 29yr old (turns 30 in December) has 2yrs left on a 4yr, 16mill deal. He's an UFA when it's done.

I've been following Kupari for a while - I'm a fan.
His potential was buried in LA... but he should be the add-piece that makes this deal go.

Obviously - with LA's stockpile of assets - this makes sense for both teams.
It's a massive downgrade for WPG in terms of top two centers... maybe they push Wheeler back into some C2 duty?!?
Probably... Wheeler/Vilardi split C2/W2 duties.

IMO - this would be a BIG upgrade for ALL the players involved fantasy-upside.

apparently it will be a sign and trade, and a hold up is making the deal work between LAK and PLD, but that deal also be cap compliant to the Jets as he will be extending as a Jet.

Kyper is saying PLD deal could be between 60-65m on an 8yr deal (7.5-8.125m aav)

CJ has said the deal is 8.5m aav for 8yrs.

31 year old Hayes 50% cap retention - $3,571,428 til 2025-26 season was traded for a 6th round pick.

36 year old Wheeler, if 50% cap retention - $4,125,000 for one more season... might be hard to trade.

The Wheeler contract does have the benefit of being only one more season, but Wheeler is 5 years older and the 50% retention is half a million higher.

Does that mean we see Wheeler get bought out? Or can Winnipeg find another team to retain another 25% of the contract value, bringing his value to the final team $2,062,500 which might be easier to stomach for a final destination.

A lot of Habs fans on Twitter seemed to think Habs acquired Newhook to be part of a trade for PLD. I don't know why they'd think that but clearly they're sniffing glue. It's all but done for PLD to go to LA.

I'm not sure who's going with PLD but Chevy did very well to get what he's going to get for him considering he was kinda painted into a corner by PLD and his camp.

Queue Habs fans to now come out saying they didn't really want PLD or start pointing out his flaws lol.

Not a big fan of the length and term for one of the league's bigger pre-Madonna's.

But the Kings shore up their high-end talent pool and get a player who, when on his game, can hang with the Tkachuk's of the league nonetheless.
