Just wondering how close is he to the NHL since San Jose gave him a contract? How good could he be with a full injury free year, which he should have this year? What to expect when he does make the NHL. San Jose is amazing at finding talent and made 2 deals to get this kid, thats gotta tell ya something
I think he\'ll maintain his ppg from last year in this upcoming year, and fine-tune his defensive talents so that right off the block the year after, he can play all the important minutes he needs to play in the AHL for Worcester. It\'ll speed up his development in terms of how NHL ready he\'ll be, and even though his point totals won\'t escalate, he\'ll be a prime candidate to have scoring line duties on the 1st PP the year after in the AHL, so that\'ll make up for it.
Once he hits the NHL you\'re looking at 1 partial season(from callups, like 8 games) and at least 2 30 point seasons before he breaks out to 45, 55, and finally hits 70 in his 5th season. He could hit it earlier, but I think the Sharks won\'t rush him. He\'ll take solid scoring line duties when he\'s good and ready, and not before.
My take on him, at least.
