I voted Coyotes. Maybe not Arizona Coyotes though.

I simply don't beleaf enough. TML will not get it done.
Coyotes will relocate and with new management and their cap space will figure it out as the Leafs will be on the decay.

I don't think Toronto wins a Cup with this core and Arizona has a buttload of draft picks and a competent GM. Plus, Arizona will move and have an influx of cash from the new owners.

The evidence of Toronto making the playoffs far more frequently than Arizona has (e.g. Tor: 7 times out of the last 10 seasons; Ariz 9 out of the last 26, with most of those coming 20+ years ago) should lead to the conclusion that Toronto is more likely. Can't win the Cup if you don't make the playoffs.

As to new ownership, the number of owners in professional sports who have put a higher importance upon winning than making money is microscopic. George Steinbrenner, Mike Ilitch, maybe Steve Cohen and ?. There is no guarantee that new Coyotes owners are going to spend freely at the expense of a positive balance sheet.

The results of the vote doesn't eliminate this as a troll. You really think all the folks that picked Arz. believe their vote? or just trying to jab the Leafs one extra time.

Leafs are a perennial top 5 team over the past 5 years.
And the trend does not appear to be bucked in the next 2-3.
Coyotes are a perennial bottom feeder over the past decade
And the trend does not appear to be bucked for another 5+... if they're even the Coyotes the next time this franchise makes the playoffs.

1 playoff round win in the past decade... Even the 'perennial bottom feeder' Coyotes have one playoff round win over the past decade.

These were simply the two best teams to make this poll for. The Matthews to Arizona rumors just add on.
Maybe you just didn't read the room correctly... I know I didn't. I thought the votes would be more slanted to Toronto's favour, but maybe giving reasons to picking the Coyotes changed things for people.
