Nice deal for the Devils to get him under $8.

As a devil and bratt fan this is a good signing.

They have stated previously they won’t be signing players to higher contracts than what hughes is making so this makes sense and I like it. (This mindset could ofcourse change)

I expect they're prepared to go over $8 for Timo.

Others seem to like Bratt more than I do. Don't get me wrong - he's fine. But I don't see qualities that suggest he'll be a special player. For that many years I'm surprised they couldn't get it closer to 7.

Apparently Timo has instructed his agent to get an 8 year deal from NJ. His countryman buddy Nico Hischier is on the team. If they offer Meier the same deal as Bratt, he should take it. This team should be good for a long time, dude was on San Jose that couldnt have been fun. Taking a little bit less to stay on a winning team is justifiable

That seems like a good deal for the Devils to lock Bratt up long-term. Could be a steal if he continues on his trajectory.

The Devils are going to be a powerhouse for many years with those key players all locked up at reasonable price.
    Talk about a well-executed rebuild.
    Points-only keeper league. 12 teams. Keep any 12 players. Dress 12F - 6D - 2G.

Exactly. And Bratt is a 24 so there shouldn't be a dropoff at the end of the 8 years like so many other contracts. With the cap going up this contract should age well.

And word today is Meier wants to stay on an 8 year term. They're going to run the Metro as long as they don't botch the rest of the roster.

Was just offered Bratt for RThomas. Cats in my signature. Thinking about taking it. What do you think?
