I think typical signing rights get moved for like a 2nd round pick if it's an NHL ready guy who will sign with your team, I think PLD can be had for a 3rd/4th?

first of all if im Montreal or any team i stay clear ...second team he does not want to be on...good player...bad teammate it appears....
Second, you not getting him by removing's bad contract lol...you maybe able to clear space as part of the deal but that will just mean that you pay more on his value..

PLD has been known to want to go to MTL since he was in CBJ, so this "he's been on 2 teams already" stuff isn't a big deal to me. He wants to be in Montreal, he has never wanted to be in Columbus or Winnipeg.

Cool, then just wait a year and offer a contract without having to trade for him.
If he "wants" to be in MTL so bad and he's "such a bad team mate" he'll be readily available in a year.
There's no reason for MTL to trade for him unless they are incentivized to acquire him.
MTL needs to solidify it's goaltending, and even then Allen and Montembault are fine stop gaps until the ultimate solution presents itself.
No point in using assets to acquire a forward which isn't needed right now.
