Cooley decides to return to University of Minnesota
Logan Cooley has decided that he will play another year of college hockey.
Is this a result of the recent news from the Coyotes?
And the inability to get arena approved in Tempe?
I personally hope it is related.
And that Cooley makes the stand for one more year and then becomes a free agent.
The Coyotes losing one of their best prospects in years would/should/could be a huge eye-opener for the NHL.

i was trying to figure this out yesterday. I couldn’t find anything exact.
the closest thing I found was Benjamin Gaudreau decided to re enter the draft this year. I think he was drafted the year before Cooley.

You know I don’t know…I think he has to play out his senior year and then can sign as a free agent and Arizona would be afforded compensation…I think only CHL players can re-enter the draft? Am I wrong? And I think the team has to allow the player to re-enter the draft which I know Arizona would not do.

For an american player it's 4 years and then he becomes a FA. Can'T go back in the draft I believe

So you’re telling me he’s not playing in Arizona is worth $3-5 million dollars? Either way the kid is an idiot. I can’t believe someone would be stupid enough to pass on signing an ELC because the organization has issues. In game 1 this season in Minnesota if he blows out a knee or trashes a shoulder then what? Whatever his reason his family must be wealthy or really stupid to advise him to do this. It sure as hell shouldn’t be what’s happening with the team. Give me a ****ing break. There must be something compelling pushing him to return to college. If it really is that he was drafted by Arizona that’s beyond stupid. Take the $$ and do your time. It’s a GD NHL contract.
