I actually watched the 1st period, then had hockey and listened to the OT on the way home. But I thought it was the OT. I switched from hockey to NBA when Florida scored the goal that ended up getting waved off. So maybe the lack of penalties were warranted but 1 penalty over almost 60minutes...or 3 penalties over 80minutes...doesn't seem right.

To be fair, I watched the first 60 minutes and it seemed like a relatively tame contest. I thought 2 of the penalties against Florida early on were kinda soft and there was a "consolation" penalty assessed to Carolina to make up for it. Other than that I didn't see anything egregious that would have indicated the contest wasn't being officiated properly.

Good grief. I couldn't manage to stay awake for the full contest and woke up to news that I missed a small earthquake near my house and a 4 OT thriller. Not sure which I'm more surprised about.

Montour with nearly an HOUR of ice time? Several forwards on both sides with 40+ minutes? And Game 2 is tomorrow? Amazing.

All things hypothetical but if the Panthers go on to win the cup and Bob continues to play great and win the Conn Smythe, he becomes a hall of famer IMO. 2 Vezina's, 1 cup and a Con Smythe. That's first ballot territory.

For some stats on Bob, he has a career 2.61GAA, .915s%. 360wins (26th all time), 38shutouts (47th all time). He has 3yrs left too on his deal and he could arguably move up to top 40 in shutouts and maybe top 10 in wins (20w/yr, 60wins, 420w total puts him 11th).

He's got the same stuff if not better than Rogie Vachon and Ed Belfour who were recently inducted into the HoF. And could get to better stats than Luongo, with more hardware outside of International stuff.

I was struggling to find something online to stream while in bed after I got home from hockey thinking the game was done in the 1st OT lol. I was not happy when I saw Montour having 59TOI and realizing the goal got waved off lol.
