    Default Bourque or Slafkovsky?

Got a trade offer for either Bourque or Lapierre and what will most likely be a late second round pick (probably 40-48 OA) for Slaf. I would much rather Bourque over Hendrix but what are the opinions on Slaf? He looks like He’s set to take the top line LW for years to come. But I feel Bourque has a similar upside but will achieve quicker. Thoughts?

I'm probably one of the lowest guys on these boards about Slafkovsky. That being said, neither Bourque nor Lapierre are anywhere close to Slaf's value, perceived or real. Someone somewhere has to give you more than lower-level unexceptional prospects for the 1OA, at this stage in Slaf's career. Both of Bourque and Lapierre have regressed since their draft years; their trajectory is downward and at this point, I'd need to see a strong year somewhere to make me think they are building up to NHL relevance. In your giganto-league, they deserve to be on someone's roster, but at this point they're not moving any needles. You make this kind of deal in 3 years if Slaf hasn't progressed at all, not now.

agreed with this...but im also quite high on slafkovsky for what i think he can be which is multicat stud but with limited offence (60-70) points...a bit for E Kane light

I like both but I would keep Slaf… He’s still a 1st overall and I think you could get more for him !

We can speculate all we want but the bottom line is no one knows how these guys are going to pan out at this point. What we do know is that Slaf was a 1 OA and with that comes value real and/or perceived. You are not getting full value for Slaf moving him for Borque and a 40 something overall draft pick. Not close IMO. Sounds like you made the right decision.

    Mavrik Bourque?
He'll probably be a solid 3rd line with 2nd line upside forward... but he doesn't have upside of Slaf.

Tip: Don't overrate anybody's D+1 CHL year. There are SO many drafted guys that dominate their leagues as a 19-year old.
I mean... Bourque turned age 20 during his 68pt in 31gp final QMJHL year.
I know those look like incredible stats... but it's not that mind-blowing for a very good 20-year old to post that kind of line.

Consider him more where he should be considered.
Look at his "rookie" year AHL scoring: 33pts in 55gp.

That's there with players like Will Cuylle and Xavier Bourgault and Tristen Robins.
These guys are 2nd/3rd line-ish wingers.

IMO - Mavrik Bourque is the kind of guy you WANT to sell high on when he has a 68pt in 31gp age20 CHL year.

Absolutely. BUT, don't make the trade, the OP is the Slaf owner (:

If Slaf can find a way to stick with Caufield and Suzuki, he should be a good own. Bourque and Lapierre are kinda meh as far as I’m concerned.
12 teams. Keep 9 any position.
7 prospects. D scoring 3.75 for goal, 2.75 for assist. Forwards 3.5 for goal, 2.5 for assist. 0.5 for hits and blocks. Goalie scoring -1.5 GA, 0.3 for save, 2 points for win and extra 2 for shutout.

    Pre Draft

F: Keller, Zegras, Suzuki, Caufield, Cozens

    D: Drysdale, Guhle, Perunovich

    G:

    IR:

Prospects: W. Johnston, K. Johnson, Guenther, Morrow, Mateychuk

    LOL

However, you provided some excellent input as to why a guy like Bourque and a crappy pick was a piss poor return for Slaf. Ya, just kinda came at it ass backwards (:
