Im curious on the price but looking at the player, I like this trade for the Jets. The cost may change my tune.
I was hoping for a Meier - Ehlers reunion but it's not meant to be.

Waiting on confirmation, but sounds like a 2024 2nd Round Pick from #nhljets to #preds for Nino Niederreiter.

If that's all it cost, Winnipeg really doing well to flex their cap space and place in the standings.

I mean nashville signed him for free then gets a 2nd rounder? very nice
One day I will quit fantasy hockey, today is not that day.
More teams should have been on this for that price.
Most teams couldn't be because they couldn't take the full cap hit, this year or next.
You could argue Detroit or Buffalo should have been in on this as well. Then it just comes down to relationships.
What's crazy is the Jets could get an even better pick back in exchange at next year's deadline if they retain salary. (Assuming they aren't just keeping him because they are competing.) That's the power of cap space in these flat cap times.
Win for both teams really.

Don’t know if he can make it for tomorrow’s game vs the Isles but that’s a huge game for the Jets (and Isles). Will they respond or play another letdown game? Would love to see Helly v Sorokin II.
