These aren't your daddy's Lions.
They are projected to win the NFC North and host a playoff game for the first time in god knows how long. They upgraded their D and have some nice offensive weapons. I do like them this year but I don't expect them to beat KC tonight. Even if Kelce doesn't play and they are missing Jones, I think KC is still the better team, especially at Arrowhead.

The Lions defense is still not amazing, plus it's the 1st game of the season where I see a bit of growing pains for the Lions D. Plus the Chiefs always come out hot in game 1.
Mahomes also runs for 20yrds tonight too.

No kidding, the spread really moved that much after Kelce's injury was announced. Was at -6.0 or -6.5 early this week. I'll see where it gets by game time before picking a side, but I was liking Detroit at the +6.0, not so much at +4.5.

Man, what is with these quarterbacks. Lamar Jackson overshadows the draft by signing the biggest contract ever. Now Joe Burrow does the same on the season's opening night.
